Most doctors will treat your balance disorder with medication.

Although some pain medication can reduce immediate pain it must be understood that the medication is not actually getting rid of the pain rather it is only masking it. There are side effects that come along with these medications such as, feeling drowsy, heart problems, not to mention the fact that many of these painkillers can cause physical dependence, overdose and sadly, death.

Many people don’t know that their condition is treatable using natural methods like Physical Therapy. Unless the REAL cause of your balance disorder is treated you'll never get better.

Facts and Myths

Fact: Chronic, long lasting balance disorders, lightheadedness, and dizziness/vertigo (aka BPPV) is often mistreated affecting millions of Americans each year.

Myth: "Your dizziness is caused by anxiety or old age."

While someone with dizziness may be feeling anxious about their dizziness anxiety is not the underlying cause for dizziness. Symptoms of dizziness are not normal at any age and are a sign that there is something wrong.

Fact: Going to your doctor is a good idea!
It is important to rule out a pathological cause of balance disorders caused by a tumor or stroke. When you're not responding to medications and the disorder is not caused by a pathology it is time to look into other methods.

The dizziness, lightheadedness, unsteadiness or vertigo sensations you may feel are very real. Specific causes can be identified with an appropriate medical evaluation. The good news is that, once identified, most dizziness disorders can be successfully treated.
